Shane and I’d like to express our sincerest condolences to the victims of this terrible and tragic event.
As Most of you know, Shane published a Copy of Might is right, which he stopped publishing in 2016. Because the controversial book has been quoted by the shooter of the Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooting on July 28 2019.
There have been a lot of strong opinions over who the book ‘belongs’ to, and countless arguments about how to interpret it. In fact it’s wikipedia was edited this week nevertheless with facts, but with very strong bias. In other places there are a lot of assumptions made based on confirmation bias, mostly based on whether or not they like past or present publishers and if they correspond to their own crowds.
This Conversation happened when recording an episode for Season 2, and we were discussing Shane’s experiences as a publisher.
The full episode will release at a later date.
We decided to release this part of the episode early and on it’s own as shane reflects on how he feels about the book being coopted by alt-right circles and why he no longer publishes it.
Thank you for listening and stay tuned for Season 2, Coming early September!
